備長炭でアルミ空気電池を作ってみよう
1000 ℃以上の高温で焼いた備長炭は、炭素結晶が規則正しく並んでい
るため、炭素の層の間を電子が動きやすく、電気をよく通します。今回は
アルミホイルと、備長炭に付着した酸素で空気電池（2-10）を作ってみ
ましょう。
用意するもの
・備長炭
・アルミホイル
・キッチンペーパー
・ 実験用電子オルゴール（または実験用小型発光ダイオード）
・食塩水（塩化ナトリウム水溶液）
・リ ード 線
やり方
❶鍋にお湯を沸かして、溶かせるだけの塩を入れて濃い目の食塩水を作
り、冷めたらキッチンペーパーを浸します。このキッチンペーパーを備
長炭に巻き付けて、その上からアルミホイルを巻き付けます。このとき
アルミホイルが備長炭に直接接触しないように気をつけてください。
❷実験用電子オルゴールの負極を備長炭、正極をアルミホイルにリード線
でつないでみて、音が鳴るか確認してみましょう。
