When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
People Versus Resource Management
Managing centralized schedules is one thing, but the capability to also manage the resources necessary for those schedules ties into a business’s capability to be ready on all fronts.
A good example of this is an automotive repair shop. The shop needs to have people on hand who not only know how to do the repair, but who also are available to do the repair (and are not working on another repair at the same time). Compound that with the fact that the shop has only three service bays in which to perform the repairs, and this creates a need for a management tool to ensure the following:
• When a customer makes an appointment, you have the resources necessary to complete the job.
