Chapter 20: Filtered Lookups

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 introduced the concept of lookups restricted to only what you need or filtered based on predefined criteria. In previous versions, when you had a lookup option, the only option you were presented with was every possible value for the lookup, restricted only to those records that your security settings prevented you from accessing. As such, if you needed to populate the parent account on the Account form, you would have to filter through every account record before finding the one you wanted.

Now we can define what records we want to choose from, making selection much easier.
