Cases are normally used to track customer problems, questions, and issues. Each case is assigned a unique identifier with a prefix of CAS by default, which you can customize from Settings, Administration, Autonumbering.

We are frequently asked if there is any flexibility around the case number numbering scheme because it can be unfriendly in some cases (that is, instead of CAS-01002-T8N2C3, something more like CAS-5401).
