Relationship Roles

Relationship Roles are available only for Accounts, Contacts, and Opportunities. They are designed to enable users to configure relationship types that might exist between records of these entities in the system. Relationship Roles can be used for any kind of relationship, including business, familiar, and social ones.

As previously noted in Connection Roles, Relationship Roles were to have been removed from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 completely (available only for upgraded instances for backward compatibility), however they appear to have shipped with the final product.
