When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
System
The system solution, or layer, is the default or base solution that defines the default application behavior. It is the components from the system layer that are used within managed and unmanaged solutions, and it is possible to customize the system layer. Additionally, it is possible to export the system layer and import it into other organizations.
Caution
You cannot export the system layer in a managed type—only in an unmanaged type. This will have effects in the way solutions are applied to other applications (refer to the section on layers later in this chapter), but the main thing to be aware of is that it cannot be rolled back easily once it is installed into another application.
