Exporting Solutions

Solutions can be exported in two different package types:

• Unmanaged

• Managed

Unmanaged is the option that enables developers to maintain backups of the customizations; they can be modified when applying them on any other environment. Note: when removing unmanaged solutions the custom entities are not removed; to remove the custom entities, you will need to remove them manually by going to the Default Solution.

If you want to be have other people deploy the solution, you will have to export the solution as managed so that people can’t make any customization to the package.

Before exporting your solution, be sure you include the site map on the solution because it won’t be added automatically by the entities you ...
