Inserting a Picture

You can quickly insert a picture file that you have stored on your computer using the Pictures command in the Images group. PowerPoint supports several popular picture file formats, including Windows Bitmap (.bmp), Graphics Interchange Format (.gif), Joint Photographics Expert Group (.jpg), Portable Network Graphics (.png), and TIFF, Tagged Image File Format (.tiff).

To open the Insert Picture dialog box, select the Pictures command on the Insert tab. If you are working with a new slide that contains content placeholders, you can also open the Insert Picture dialog box by selecting the Pictures icon in the content placeholder. Figure 19.2 shows the Insert Picture dialog box.
