Many Linux users have found it difficult to switch from GNOME 2 to the current versions. Especially for this user group, the GNOME developers have created GNOME Classic. This is a predefined collection of GNOME extensions that make today's GNOME look similar to GNOME 2. There is a traditional start menu, icons on the desktop, and a taskbar at the bottom of the screen (see Figure 4.22).
