Usually, GRUB is set up correctly during the installation of your Linux distribution. As a result, you may make changes to the GRUB configuration or grub.cfg, but you do not need to touch the GRUB installation as such.
The following section is only relevant if you want to perform a manual installation of GRUB for some reason or if you need to repair a defective GRUB installation. To do this, start your computer from a USB flash drive that contains a live system. If you want to repair a Fedora installation, it’s best to use a Fedora live system, and an Ubuntu live system accordingly for Ubuntu.
