14.9 CPU Tuning
Modern CPUs provide many options to analyze and influence their behavior. In this section, I'll explain how you can determine the current clock frequency and temperature and how to disable the turbo boost function. The examples refer to Intel CPUs. AMD CPUs provide quite similar control options but require different tools and use different /proc or /sys paths.
You can get information about the CPU in your computer using the lscpu command or via cat /proc/cpuinfo. The easiest way to determine the number of CPU cores is to use the nproc command.
