26 Postfix and Dovecot
This chapter describes how you can set up an email server. This type of server allows you to provide all employees of a company or organization with their own email addresses. Every employee can send emails via SMTP and read, save, and manage them via IMAP. The Postfix program is used as the SMTP server, while the Dovecot program is used as the IMAP server and for the SMTP authentication. These programs are available in all common distributions.
