32.4    Integrating Virtual Machines into the LAN (Network Bridge)

By default, libvirt uses so-called user-mode networking. The virtual machines are assigned an IP address in the 192.168.122.* range via DHCP. On the host computer, you need to set up the IP address 192.168.122.1 as the gateway to the internet. This way, the guests have internet access and can also communicate with the host via its address, 192.168.122.1. Apart from that, KVM guests cannot access network services on the local network, and vice versa, while computers on the LAN cannot communicate with KVM guests either.
