Almost 20 years ago, Apple proved with its Time Machine that even a backup program can generate enthusiasm. Linux unfortunately cannot keep up in this respect: the range of backup commands and tools is large, but desktop users are still waiting for the ingenious, easy-to-use backup tool.
I'm not even going to try to convince you of the need for backups here. Instead, I want to focus on introducing you to various ready-to-use programs as well as tools and techniques for programming your own backup solutions:
