After installing Linux, you usually do not have to worry about managing the file system: you can access all or at least most of the data partitions on the hard disk via various directories.
This section takes a look behind the scenes and describes the mount and umount commands as well as the /etc/fstab file:
mount or umount is always executed when a file system is integrated into the directory tree or removed from it again. Of course, you can also run these commands yourself as root if the automatisms fail or if you do not use a graphical desktop system.
