Debian and Ubuntu also use systemd for the system startup (see Table 1.3). Figure 20.1 therefore also applies to these distributions. However, Init-V compatibility plays a somewhat larger role on Debian or on Ubuntu to this very day. The following listing was created on an Ubuntu server (version 20.04) and shows that isolated services were started by conventional Init-V scripts:
