12.2 Cursor Movement
The cursor keys work in standard mode as well as in insert mode. You can also change the cursor position using various key combinations in standard mode (see Table 12.2). Vi freaks move through the text more efficiently in this way than by using the cursor keys.
A peculiarity of Vim is that (í) at the beginning of a line doesn’t place the cursor at the end of the previous line. Similarly, (î) at the end of a line doesn’t work as usual. To achieve the usual behavior of other editors, you need to execute in default mode, with (:) set whichwrap=b,s,<,>,[,], or add this set command to .vimrc.
