5.4 KDE Configuration
The System Settings area contains countless configuration modules (see Figure 5.6). Because it isn’t always easy to find the right module, the KDE developers have equipped the program with a search function in which you can search for keywords (e.g., “window”).
The numerous modules of the system settings are presented either in an icon view or in a sidebar. To switch between the two display formats, you can use the Setup button.
KDE also contains configuration modules that do not affect the desktop but do affect system settings—for example, for network configuration or the printer. These modules are very useful for distributions that do not provide their own configuration tools. On SUSE, however, you should prefer YaST ...
