parted is the most important partitioning tool for Linux at the command level. It can handle both MBR and GPT partitions. Details on the many functions of parted can be found at https://gnu.org/software/parted.
As an alternative to parted, fdisk is still popular today. However, as fdisk is only suitable for data media with MBR partitions, I will not discuss fdisk in this book.
