24.6 Web Access Statistics
If you run your own web server or administrate it for someone else, you usually also want to know how many people visit the website per day, which web browsers are used, and so on. I'll briefly introduce a few tools here first, and then go into a bit more detail about using GoAccess.
In the past, the Webalizer or AWStats program was often used to create such statistics. These programs from the early days of the web are no longer up to date. The configuration is relatively complex because calling them must be synchronized with the rotation of the logging files.
