7.8 Bash Scripts
Scripts are text files that contain Linux and bash commands.
Scripts can contain branches, loops and functions. This means that bash is a simple programming language. A typical application for scripts is the automation of frequently needed command sequences for installing programs, administrating the system, performing backups, configuring and running individual programs, and so on.
