In the default mode, (/) searchtext (Enter) moves the cursor to the text being searched for. (N) repeats the search, while (Shift)+(N) repeats the search backwards. To search backwards from the beginning, you want to start the search using (?) searchterm. Table 12.8 explains the most important special characters you can use to search for patterns.
