In the previous sections, special functions of Vim were repeatedly activated or modified by options, and this section introduces a number of additional options.
Note that some options apply only locally to the current file or buffer. In this case, (:) set only changes the local setting. To change the option globally, you need to use (:) setglobal. Table 12.11 summarizes the most important commands for editing options.
