So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

（運用）を結合した造語です。正式な定義というのは存在しないのです

IT の開発チームと運用チームがコラボレーション（協働）し、顧
客に価値を迅速に届けることを目指す考え方と手法を指しています。
DevOpsの起源
DevOpsという言葉は、2009年に OʼReilly（オライリー）主催のイベ
ント「Velocity 2009」において、当時 Flickr（米 Yahoo! が運営するオ
ンライン写真共有サービス）に所属していたジョン・アレスポー（
John
Allspaw
）氏とポール・ハモンド（Paul Hammond）氏が発表したプレ
ゼンテーションで初めて登場しました。
このプレゼンテーションの骨子は次のような内容でした。
開発も運用もその最終的な目標は共通であり、「
IT を使用するユー
ザーに、迅速に的確な価値を届けること」です。これを実現する
には、自動化ツールやバージョン管理ツール、情報共有ツールな
どのツール活用と同時に、開発と運用が互いを尊敬し合い、オー
プンで協力し合うカルチャーを形成することも大切です。
これを読むと、「開発チームと運用チームがコラボレーション」する
ことが大切だとする
DevOps の考え方が理解できると思います。
