There are a number of ways to tap into your customer base to get user feedback. Engaging customers can be very helpful when the product under testing requires specific domain knowledge. Consider a product that is used by the human resources department, to manage the hiring process from posting a job description to offering a position to a candidate. Someone with no training in the subject matter will probably not know how to use the tool effectively. Their feedback would largely be meaningless.
