Lists are also a very simple way of representing response information. They are best used for open questions, such as "what is your first impression of …?". They can be used for both unclustered and clustered responses:

- For remote moderated studies where the number of responses might be relatively low, the responses can be listed verbatim, ideally enclosed by quotes to support the understanding that these are verbatim statements.
