Long tasks

Sometimes tasks are very long. This may not pose a problem if the task is straightforward, such as using a wizard that requires simple information input only, or a commonly understood flow, such as choosing and purchasing an item in an online clothing retail store.

If, however, the task is long and possibly complex, it might be better to split the task up into smaller tasks, if possible. These smaller tasks need to be able to stand on their own so that the one task has a natural endpoint and the next task has a natural starting point. If these are not natural, the participant may get confused, which in turn may negatively impact their experience and the completion of the task.
