The participant misrepresented themselves in the screener and re-screener. It is possible that the participant managed to misrepresent themselves without being detected, and the discrepancies only come to light during the study. For instance, the profile requires that the participant be the household member that makes decisions about car insurance. The screener may have included some proof of insurance, or other validating questions that the participant managed to answer. However, when asked specific questions about the insurance during the session, the participant cannot provide insightful feedback or relate past experiences.
