When planning studies, it is prudent to avoid the typical holiday seasons in the various locations where participants are being recruited, because it is harder to find participants during vacation time; people are more distracted by year-end closing (and potentially religious holidays) in early December, for example. This makes recruitment more difficult, and may also result in a higher risk of no-shows, with subsequent delays in the study schedule.
