Subject matter experts
Recruiting subject matter experts can be challenging. Subject matter experts, such as surgeons, fund managers, architects, farmers, or restaurant chefs, usually have busy schedules, limiting the time that they have available for participating in UX studies.
Many studies provide some form of financial compensation as an incentive. However, subject matter experts in higher paying jobs are often not swayed by compensation as an incentive. They will typically participate in a study out of personal or professional interests, and often respond well to charity donations as appreciation for their participation.
