Using the REST Explorer

To make it really easy to understand the capabilities available in the REST APIs, ServiceNow provides the REST Explorer. It is a specialized client interface that understands the options available, and presents them in a point-and-click UI. It makes it far easy to quickly create the right commands than experimenting in SoapUI.

Use it to craft the request you want, then generate sample code in Python, Ruby, Powershell, or even a cURL command. Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to System Web Services > REST > REST API Explorer, and for the first time only, click on Explore.
2. To retrieve a list of users, with all the defaults, make the following selections:
   • Namespace: now
   • API Name: Table API
