So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating events every day
Let's keep our Gardiner Hotel rooms spick and span. Our aim is to ensure that a Maintenance task gets created at the end of a hotel stay, ensuring that each room then gets cleaned. There are several ways to achieve this, but let's fire an event to get the most control. Schedule this for midday to give our guests plenty of time to check out.
- To begin, create an entry in System Policy > Events > Event Registry. Click New, fill out the form and Save.
- Suffix: room.reservation_end
- Table: Room [x_hotel_room]
- Then navigate to System Definition > Scheduled Jobs.
Unfortunately, the sys_trigger and sysauto tables have very similar module names. Be sure to pick the right one.
