Configuring different states
Many task-based applications add, remove, and relabel state choices in order to better represent the specific type of work that the task represents. A very typical addition is Awaiting Requester. This usually means that the fulfiller, the user in the Assigned to field, is asking for clarification about the task-perhaps not enough detail was provided, or there are multiple ways to complete the task, and a choice should be given to the requester.
If the states are changed in an extended table, it is important to align them correctly. For instance, if you remove Closed Skipped and add Awaiting Requester, do not give Awaiting Requester a number value of 7. Otherwise, it can be confusing when comparing different ticket ...
