So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Automatically download data using cURL
ServiceNow is all about choice and flexibility. Chapter 6, Events, Notifications, and Reporting, looked at how scheduled reports could be used to send out an e-mail containing an Excel document on a periodic basis. But instead of filling everyone's mailbox, why not download it to a file share instead?
cURL is free, open source software that downloads data from almost anything, for basically every operating system. It doesn't use a graphical interface; you just pass it a URL and it saves it to disk.
