Identifying configuration

Update Sets use the update_synch attribute on a table to know whether it is considered a configuration. If the attribute exists, the Update Set handler adds a copy of the record to the current Update Set.

Applications have a similar concept of separating data and configuration, but the mechanism of identifying it is different. Simply, every table that holds configuration is extended from the Application File [sys_metadata] table. This means that each time you perform some configuration, you are making an entry in this table.

To see what is considered configuration to an application, navigate to System Definition > Tables, and create a filter that shows everything extended from Application File. In my version of Helsinki, ...
