One important use of client-side scripts is their ability to validate information before it is submitted to the server. It's straightforward to write a Client Script to check a form, as we've just seen. In contrast, validation scripts are associated with a particular field type, such as strings, dates, or choices.
A topic of frustration is that Date fields are not validated on the client side. It is possible to enter any sort of text into a Date field and save the record. If it is nonsensical, the platform will ignore the value change with no error message.
Let's improve the situation with a few undocumented functions.
