When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Controlling application access
As you might have seen from the screenshot above, there are more ways to control what other apps can do. The starting point of Application Access is the Accessible from option:
- This application scope means that no other application can affect this table. Use this when you don't want to share any data at all.
- All application scopes lets you be more granular. This default option then lets you specify exactly what those applications can do.
The first four options (Can read, Can create, Can update, and Can delete) affect scripting. Every application can include code that may attempt to interact with any tables in the database; these controls stop that. By default, Can read is checked, meaning scripts can look ...
