In November 2014, Arctic Cat formally introduced Chris Metz as its new CEO, only a month after the company recalled all its ATVs manufactured in 2008 and a portion of ATVs produced in 2009 over front gear box concerns. Arctic Cat had a rough year in 2014 with its stock price falling nearly 50 percent, while rival Polaris enjoyed stock price appreciation of approximately 25 percent. In early 2015, Arctic Cat slashed its 2015 sales projections from $745 million to as low as $705 million. Net sales of $705 million in 2015 would be a decrease of 3.5 percent from fiscal year end 2014 sales of $730 million.
