Harley’s primary rivals include privately held companies such as Triumph Motorcycles Limited, Ultra Motorcycle Company, and Viper Motorcycle Company. But in addition, major foreign-based rivals include Honda and Suzuki. Another major rival is Polaris Industries, although that company also sells snowmobiles and four-wheel vehicles. Exhibit 7 provides a comparison of Harley with Polaris and Honda. Note that Harley has the highest revenue per employee, which is attractive for the company.
