On July 22, 2015, Gruma reported its second quarter of 2015 results. The company generated net profits of MXN (pesos) 1.156 billion while sales increased 4 percent to 960,000 metric tons. For that Q2, sales were up MXN 1.938 billion, from MXN 12.297 billion in Q2 of 2014 to a new figure of MXN 14.28 billion. The company’s operating profit increased 22 percent during Q2 of 2015, due to improved performance in all its subsidiaries, particularly in the United States, as well as greater efficiencies and the positive effects of the depreciation of the Mexican peso.
