It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
11.7 EQUATION MODEL OF ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR AND PERFORMANCE
In this model, the place that organisational behaviour occupies in a work system is illustrated by a set of equations (Fig. 11.5).

Let us look first at a worker's ability. It is generally accepted that knowledge and one's skill in applying it constitute the human trait called “ability.” This is represented by the equation
Knowledge × Skill = Ability
Motivation results from a person's reactions in a specific situation. Technically, this is represented by the equation
Valence × Expectancy = Motivation
