Managers who act as change agents might subscribe to the belief that people are rational and if they understand that the change to be introduced will benefit them, their self-interest will guide them to accept the change. In other words, the rational human being who is motivated by self-interest will react positively to change if the benefits of the change to the individual or the group are properly understood. So, if the manager explains the benefits of change to the employees and then introduces it, it is likely to be a success.
