Is clear, brief, and concise

A game designer can produce a lot of documentation, going into the finest details and exploring all the possible scenarios, but a document is useless if no one reads it. And a very long, too-specific document that requires hours of study and reading is most likely counterproductive.

Clarity means that the reader doesn't have to put in too much effort to read and understand what you're saying. It means going straight to the point and writing only what's necessary. It also means that it is comprehensive and covers all the necessary details. Game documentation is neither an essay nor an instruction manual.

A bullet point, such as a to-do list, is most likely too concise (although, it might work for very simple games), ...
