Play

Obviously, the first step in polishing the design of a game is to play it. The designers need to sit down with as many people as possible and play the game with them. We've said this already; this is the moment when the designer becomes the most passionate player of their own game.

This phase might be neglected by the team. Maybe everyone is exhausted at this point and the idea of playing hours of a game you've been working on for months or even years is daunting. Keep up your team morale! Make the playing activity fun for the team and for yourself. Organize tournaments or challenge with the game and learn from what you see!
