Action points

Typical of turn-based games, action points are a widely used mechanic. The player has a budget of points that he can spend for doing actions (each action would be a separate mechanic, such as moving, using an ability, attacking an enemy, and so forth). Usually, this point also regenerates over time or each turn:

In Hearthstone, the player has a number of action points called Mana every turn. Each card he can play has a Mana cost.
